Walk a Mile in My Shoes

A six day, ninety mile, Elvis themed walk along the Welsh Coastal Path starting in Chepstow on Tuesday 19 September and finishing in Family Zone of the Porthcawl Elvis Festival on Saturday 23 September.

Of course this raises the obvious question of why anyone would want to dress as Elvis and walk along the Welsh coast, beautiful as it is. The reason is we are working with Mind Cymru to raise awareness of the issues families face when a member suffers from mental health problems.

Taking part in the walk will be companies and organisations that deliver best practice to support their staff, who in turn have to cope on a daily basis with the challenges of managing mental health issues in their family life.

But as Elvis is involved we want it to be fun. To help the Walkers on their way we will be staging Pop-Up Elvis Gigs along the route and finishing each leg with a big old Elvis party.

Here’s where we will be ending up each day.

Tuesday 19 September NEWPORT TRANSPORTER BRIDGE
Wednesday 20 September THE NORWEGIAN CHURCH, CARDIFF BAY
Thursday 21 September FONTYGARY LEISURE PARK, RHOOSE
Friday 22 September TRECCO BAY HOLIDAY PARK, PORTHCAWL
Saturday 23 September PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL FAMILY ZONE

Watch this page or follow the event on Social Media to get exact timings

So what we are looking for are:

  • Companies and Organisations who want to put a team into one of the legs
  • Individuals who want to take part, either for a whole day, half a day or just to ‘Walk a Mile in Their Shoes’
  • Or Elvis fans just to turn up at the Pop-Ups or End of Walk gigs to support everyone taking part.
