 PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
Hi, Never been to this festival I am aiming to go this year. Would like tips from someone who has been . Im taking my daughter who is huge elvis fan .I would like and tips on best hotels or accomodation etc . I take it most the shows are in Grand Pavilion?. Is there age restrictions etc. The Hi - tide seems to be doing some shows in Harbour Lights Bar and Bayroom but because its a pub it might not be suitable for kids ?? There doesnt seem to be a lot of info about it at the moment .Any help & info appreciated.

 Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
hi there, most details can be found from the main website but i can try to help a little!
the main shows happen in the pavillion and as far as i know there are no age restrictions there and you will find it the most relaxing and comfortable place to be all weekend. there are some great showcases in the hi-tide and surrounding bars etc but because most of those are free entry they do get packed to the rafters, therefore i wouldnt take young children in there.
there are many shows throughout the weekend at the pavillion, so i would suggest purchasing a weekend pass/ticket and you will see the best acts/artists at the festival. but get your ticket/s well in advance cos they do sell out every year!
accomodation, again, book very early and i know alot of places are already full. there are some local caravan sites etc too.
hope to see you there, and come say hello!

Is the grand pavillion seated ? and when you book tickets can you book certain seats etc.I like to be in the first few rows when i take my daughter as if people stand up etc she cant see. Also where do you buy these tickets from ?

Tickets for official shows at the Grand Pavilion go on sale on 17 Feb. You'll then be able to print an application form via the website for Floorshow (downstairs) tickets or phone the Pavilion Box Office for circle seats.

 Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
Hi, Sorting out accomodation at present also tickets for shows at the Pavillion . Can anyone tell me what the seating is like in the "circle" or if there is seating ? - is it the balcony ?.There does not seem to be a seating plan etc i can view.
I sound like a complete Noob asking ( Never been to the festival ). Apart from the bars are there any other Elvis things going on that shouldnt be missed? Ive seen the Hi Tide Inn but it's a pub. There seems a lack of info on the net to the festival for first timers etc.I have a child that is going and she is the huge elvis fan .

 Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
Well, I can't answer the pavillion, But in the fest time the whole of porthcawl pretty much is elvis' world, The Hi-tide has many Eta's and is next to the beach (if you wanted to get away from the crowd) Its fun for all the family, and i saw some young children around. Also there will sometimes be a Eta, on the stetch of pavement from the pavillion to the brentwood just in the middle preforming Hope I have been of some use, until someone better can answer =] thanks. Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
Not to mention many pubs and clubs put their own independent shows on to tie in with the festival-event the premier lodge-it is wall to wall elvis wherever you look over the weekend.

 Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
Many many pubs are hosting events, But the BrentWood inn, has to be the most recognised and popular , Re-named the Heartbreak hotel in the festivle, Its always bursting with Fans and Etas and normally a very freindly place, Lovely owners too! =] I can't be sure of other pubs though, as I have no idea whos booked where Hope that helped Liam Aaron.

 Re: PORTHCAWL ELVIS FESTIVAL 2010
WELL I THINK THE HI TIDE WOULD SUIT YOU MORE. ITS NOT A PUB LIKE LIAM SAID , ITS A BIG VENUE WITH THREE BIG ROOMS AND ALL THE ACTS WHO ARE SINGING THERE ALSO SING IN THE BRENTWOOD AND AROUND THE HI TIDE THERE IS A BIG AMUSEMENT ARCADE AND 200 YARDS IS A FAIRGROUND HEAVEN FOR THE KIDS . IN MY OPION THIS WOULD SUIT YOU BETTER BECAUSE THE BRENTWOOD IN MY OPINION GETS TO PACKED AND FULL OF ADULTS ALTHOUGH THE HI TIDE GETS PACKED BUT OUTSIDE YOU CAN MOVE AROUND AND STILL ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE WEEKEND . I KNOW THIS CAUSE I AM AN ETA MYSELF AND I HAVE HAD SOME GREAT TIMES SINGING IN THE FESTIVAL. THE OTHER VENUE YOU COULD GO TO IS THE PAVILLION THEY HAVE GREAT ACTS THERE ALL WEEKEND ,YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHOWS BUT ITS A PLACE YOU CAN RELAX AND SUCH LOVELY VENUE TO GET AWAY FROM THE BIG CROWDS AND RELAX,I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU
